Porter created a puzzle concerning a monkey climbing golden chains. It had something about the age of somebody during the Peloponesian Wars. I remember that we were sitting in Calculus class and the kid sitting next to Porter was trying to solve the puzzle. He leaned over and asked Porter what the date were for the Peloponesian wars. The puzzle, of course, was complete nonsense. It had no solution.
